Then we were asked what we had ordered, so obviously it wasn't already being prepared. Once ordered sat and waited, and waited and waited after waiting around 40 mins I was getting very inpatient and enquired as to where the food was as it was only two sandwiches and so the lady went to check then after another 10 mins the food finally came out I was okay hot just an average breakfast sandwich. Sadly we wont be returning for lunch again, when you pay this much I expect quality. Thanks for the review, we are so pleased you enjoyed the food and our service Only complaint was poor punctuation on menu, commas needed to sort list of fillings- very confusing! Easter chicks in the pet section were adorable. The yorkshire pudding was now just a soggy lump, the roast potatoes had turned to rubbery coated mush and to cap it all the whole plate was still only very slightly warm. I thought as i looked at it that it could be quite reasonable even though the 'seasonal veg' consisted of frozen runner beans and a considerabl number of frozen peas.. neither of which are actually veg from the current season but then i saw that these hadnt been drained and my plate was swimming in water and where it had blended watery gravy firstly i tried to cut into one of the very adequate slices of beef but the knives are so blunt i ended up with very sore really deep dents in my fingers.. the cutlery is awful.. dirt cheap rubbish that serves no purpose other than pretending that it can be put to any practical use it was at this point i realised that my food was stone cold. not taste as expected. Those trading again are enforcing social-distancing measures, with many limiting the amount of customers allowed in at any one time. One cream slice had become a cream slide. I love black pudding - half a piece on the plate.

So sad. - Review of Planters At Bretby, Burton upon Trent, England Unfortunately not the best experience and would be very reluctant to spend that amount of money again when I am not even offered an apology. Staff were lovely and friendly. smashing re-vamped garden centre, visit it often and am very satisfied with the products. Its all very well saying that you should take up the issue at the time of it happening, I did and where did it get me insults and bad attitude, being told that I had nothing to complain about. even though the food, the service and the attitude completely wrecked my being taken out for Mothers Day lunch. Lovely food in the restaurant. Staff were lovely and friendly. The name means "dwelling place of Britons". In summary a bit disappointing in places maybe Ill give it a go again when next visiting the excellent garden centre. Review tags are currently only available for English language reviews.
PLANTERS AT BRETBY, Burton upon Trent - Tripadvisor Bretby Hall is located at the top of a private road flanked by woodland, lakes and open fields. Smoked salmon and prawn duo came on a small bed of mixed green leaves, consisted mostly of the leaves that look a bit like dandelions, two slices of tomato and one slice of cucumber cut in half no sauce until i sent it back to have some put on it. The salad was sadly very disappointing! My daughter says her burger is ok, but she asked me to taste her coleslaw as it didn't taste right, and to be fair it did look a very suspicious shade of grey, so she left that. This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Ice skating was being thoroughly enjoyed by family groups. Luke warm soup, overcooked fish and undercooked bacon, bacon and assistant actually said oh chef will be pleased as shes cooked bacon to much came out with all the bacon still pink and fat clear took it back to be spoken to like a child did receive refund for the pannini though will not return. Daily special Beef Stew and Dumpling was very goodBretby Burger came in an irdinary white bun not Brioche as stated on the menu. The staff are helpful and knowledgable too. We paid for our food at 13:19 and it finally came to the table at 14:10. Then we were asked what we had ordered, so obviously it wasn't already being prepared. The large plate was full and consisted of mushrooms that were cooked but cold, baked beans, tomatoes, a fried egg, two slices of very fatty bacon that was not to my liking, I like my bacon crispy and this definitely was not , so that was my mistake in not asking for that , 2 small pieces of hash browns and two awful sausages, they were tasteless with a rubbery texture and I suspect re- heated and finally two slices of whole meal bread with butter. When after a further half hour someone finally came to take the plates away I voiced my complaint about everything i have mentioned above but there was no customer service at all, no apology nothing at all. We also like that we can bring our little yorkie with us . The salad was very uninspiring, with no dressing. Easter chicks in the pet section were adorable. If there has to be music ( which Id rather there wasnt ) can it not be something more serene and not so loud as it spoils the experience. more. Staunton Harold. Staff very helpful and welcoming. During our meal a staff member came to the table, while we were still eating, to remove some advert for a musical event that lay on the table beneath the condiments and menus, knocked everything over as she did, which to be honest I thought was really quite ignorant and could/should have waited until after we'd finished and left! 171.
